In contrast this book by Donald Schön one of the key voices in developing reflective practice looks at the relationship between the educator and the student, the coach and student and the development of professionals building up to how the reflective practicum can bridge the worlds of University and practice. It takes us through the thinking processes and developmental processes in educating the reflective practitioner but also the need for change in the educator. Taking this approach and looking at the impact of reflection on the educator’s practice as well as the students it uses examples from Schön’s work as an educator looking at the design process and reflection in action and applying his thinking to teaching design, coaching and musical performance.

Recommended for educators rather than a general audience.
