This book by Brockbank and McGill is squarely aimed at lecturers in higher education as its title implies, so why am I including this book? Although it does have a strong theoretical component usefully this book looks at facilitating reflective learning and includes a number of useful topics that could be helpful in supporting colleagues reflections, group reflection and students or recently qualified professionals.

Examples of these includes; using reflective dialogue with colleagues, the student using reflective dialogue, facilitation in practice basic and further skills showing how to lead and facilitate learning by attending and active listening, reflecting back, empathy, questioning and handling conflict, challenge and confrontation. Then looking at action learning and action learning sets, as well as academic supervision and mentoring.

Recommended to the educator and academic supervisors, also anyone who may become involved in leading or developing group work.
